Janice Smith: Director of Business Operations

Janice Smith BSc. MSc. (she/her) is a lifelong arts and culture enthusiast who believes theatre is spectacularly fun—and a powerful way for young people to ask big questions about themselves and the world around them. With more than 30 years of experience cultivating creative, engaging arts and cultural experiences, Janice is passionate about using storytelling and imagination to spark curiosity, build empathy, and inspire courage.

Throughout her career, Janice has worked with artists, educators, and community partners to create meaningful adventures in exhibitions, and digital storytelling.  Janice has led and contributed to a wide range of creative projects across Canada and internationally, including site‑specific, touring, and online experiences. No matter the format, she is always focused on creating welcoming, inclusive spaces where everyone feels seen, valued, and encouraged to explore the kind of world they want to help build.

As a committed community builder, Janice is passionate about cultivating strong relationships with donors, partners, and supporters who believe in the transformative power of theatre for young people. She brings people together around shared values—creativity, fairness, and inclusion—to help secure the resources and partnerships needed to sustain and grow Quest Theatres’ work, strengthening its impact across the community.
