Camille Pavlenko
Camille Pavlenko: Playwright in Residence 2026
Camille (she/her) is an award-winning theatre and literary artist based in Moh’kinstsis/Calgary, where she is the artistic associate at Verb Theatre and a part-time grad student in the Creative Writing Program at UBC. Her plays for children and adults have been produced and developed across Canada, recently: Go for Gold, Audrey Pham (Lunchbox Theatre), and The Hunting of the Snark (Calgary Young Peoples Theatre). Her adaptation of Rapunzel (with recording artist VISSIA) won the 2025 Elizabeth Sterling Haynes Award for Outstanding Production (TYA category) after touring hundreds of elementary schools in the province with Alberta Musical Theatre Company. When not at her neighbourhood library (shout out, Memorial Park!), Camille is writing stuff that will (hopefully) end up there.
