Drama Classes

Our Drama Classes encourage students to collectively contribute to a devised theatre creation. Developmental drama games, storytelling activities, character development, physicality, and story making are explored to create an original play for performance and/or sharing of a work in progress by the end of the class session. Students are encouraged to bring, borrow, or make props and costumes throughout the process. A fun, inclusive, low stress class that celebrates the ridiculously organic and brilliant creative journey of young people.

FAQs

  • Unfortunately, we do not accept 5-year-olds in our classes, unless they turn 6 years old during the first week they are attending class.

  • We have a waitlist for all sold-out classes. If a spot opens, we will contact the parents that have signed up for the waitlist. This could be weeks in advance or a couple of days before class starts.

  • Yes! Family members are encouraged to attend the final performance. Parents are allowed to record, but we kindly ask you to not post these videos on a public platform to respect all participants’ privacy.

  • We won't know the exact times until a week or two before the final class as the shows are created by the students, so once we know the show lengths we'll send an email to let everyone know when the exact show times are.

  • Our facilitators are not specially trained to teach neurodiverse participants but all of them have experience working with neurodiverse kids. We have had many participants with ADHD and anxiety attend our camps/classes in the past.

Quest employees and artists are not trained to provide physical or behavioral supports to participants. Participants who require such support are welcome provided that they are accompanied by a caregiver who can tend to their specific needs.

  • Yes, we have a Bursary program. This program is limited and is available on a first-come-first-served basis.

  • Quest employees and artists are not trained to provide physical or behavioral supports to participants. Participants who require such support are welcome provided that they are accompanied by a caregiver who can tend to their specific needs.

If your child requires additional support at school, or the support from an aide, please note that Quest Theatre does not have the resources equivalent to that support, so an aide and/or additional resources would need to be provided by you. Please open a conversation with our staff so we can determine, together with you, how to make your child’s experience in class the best one possible.

  • It's normal for kids to get nervous in a new class. We recommend you do your best to say goodbye to let them settle in to find allies and friends on their own. Otherwise, they tend to focus and rely on their grown up instead of branching out to make friends, exercise their independence, and build their confidence muscles, which is what camps and classes are all about!
