What Can Drama Camp Do For My Child?

Studies have shown that children who develop the skills of self-control, collaboration and cooperation tend to be more successful later in life. Imaginative play and creation that is found in drama camps is a phenomenal way to develop these skills in a fun, relaxed environment.

Not only do children develop collaboration and cooperation skills, they also grow in self-confidence, concentration, problem solving and memory - all skills that will serve them for their whole lives. While spending a week with others, crafting a dramatic play together, children learn how to collaboratively express their ideas to create a final product for performance.

Not only does a drama camp build and enhance all of these skills, but it can also help develop skills unique to a drama camp situation - the skills of communication, empathy and non-verbal expression. At Quest, we encourage our campers to express themselves fully and our experienced instructors work with each camper to hone their communication skills while maintaining a fun and engaged environment. “Walking in another’s shoes” that happens during character building helps children stretch their empathy. Through variety of warmup games and exercises, campers also learn how to express themselves not only using words, but also using their bodies and faces - which is especially crucial for children that might have quiet voices, to help them come out of their shell.

Our camps provide a safe space for children to express themselves fully, explore new ideas, make new friends and play - all key components of child development.
