Meet the Team!

Nikki Loach - Director, Curator and Production Designer

Nikki has been the Artistic Director of Quest Theatre since 2009. Some of her favourite directing projects for Quest include Snow Angel, We are All Treaty People, The Umbrella. Penelope vs The Aliens, Under the Big Top, Shoes of Sand and For Art’s Sake. Other favourite directing projects include Hay Fever, Absent Friends, King Henry IV Part I, London Cuckolds, The Constant Wife, and The Edible Woman at Theatre Junction, Billy Bishop Goes to War for Alberta Theatre Projects, and Gaslight, A Christmas Carol (01,02,03), Crimes of the Heart and Miracle Worker for Theatre Calgary. Nikki was an Intern Director for the Shaw Festival in summer of 1998, directing Debt of Honour for the 1988 Directors’ Project, and was invited back to the Shaw Festival to direct Village Wooing in 1999. Nikki’s acting credits include A Month in the Country at Theatre Junction, Shoes of Sand at Quest Theatre and Mom’s The Word at Theatre Calgary. Nikki is obsessed with to creating stories through imaginative play and tinkering with objects. She spends her free time with her husband Christopher and her 13-year old son, Charlie.

Sarah Wheeldon - Storyteller

Sarah has been an Actor, Director, Musical Director and Musician across Alberta for over 18 yrs. She is delighted to playing with this delightful show and at Quest Theatre for the first time! 

 Selected acting credits include: Might As Well Be Dead (Vertigo Theatre); Charlotte's Web (ATP); Alls Well That Ends Well, Twelfth Night, As You Like It, Romeo and Juliet (The Shakespeare Company/Hit & Myth Productions); Boy's Own Jedi Handbook (Ground Zero/Hit & Myth Productions); Eavesdrop, iRobot (Swallow-a-Bicycle Theatre); The Sound of Music (The Citadel Theatre).  Film/TV:TOGO (Disney Productions); Dead Again in Tombstone (Universal Studios); Miracle on Christmas Lake (GREEN Productions); Hell on Wheels (AMC). You can catch her later on this season in Merchant of Venice with the Shakespeare Company and in Cowgirl Up! at ATP. She lives in Calgary but loves to travel, ride motorbikes and explore the world of food. Mucho love to all her friends and family.  

Alixandra Cowman - Musician and Assistant Storyteller

Alixandra Cowman is an actor, musician, and sound designer. She is thrilled to being combining her love of theatre and music together in this sweet little show. Acting credits include Junie B. Jones: The Musical, The Outsiders (StoryBook Theatre), Spitfire Grill, Wildwood Fire, Chickens (Rosebud Theatre), Little Red Riding Hood Vs. The Big Bad Wolf (Birnton). Alixandra is one half of folk duo The Dearhearts, with whom she has just released her second full-length album, Enough To Go Around. Much love to her family and Conrad for their unwavering love and support.

 Sylvia Lejeune - Stage Manager

Sylvia has had the pleasure of Stage Managing in various aspects of entertainment –including Theatre, Circus, Sporting Ceremonies and Corporate events. She has been fortunate to work at Theatre Calgary, The Citadel, Manitoba Theatre Centre, Vertigo Theatre and Lunchbox Theatre. Some memorable theatre shows are A Christmas Carol, Cabaret and A Street Car Named Desire at Theatre Calgary, and the Teens at The Turn festival at the Citadel. After having her four children, Sylvia expanded her stage management career into the Ceremonies and Corporate world, allowing her more flexibility to be with her kids. Highlights in this area include the Invictus Games in Toronto, several of the Grey Cup Half Time Shows, and the Canada Summer and Winter Games Opening and Closing Ceremonies. With years of experience stage managing her kids activities, she is very excited to be working with children through Quest Theatre again.

Hayley Klepper - Touring Box Office Manager & Apprentice Stage Manager

Hayley is an emerging artist from Calgary and the U of C intern for 2019-2020. She particularly takes interest in the creation of shows and devising right from the beginning. Hayley particularly enjoys the playfulness of clowning work and hopes to pursue that in the future! Her latest acting credit is The Calling (Seven Starving Artists). She is looking forward to working with Quest Theatre and learning everything she can.
