FLOP! by Glenda Stirling
On Tour: Oct. 15th – Dec. 7th, 2007
Appropriate for grades K – 6

Cinderbelly is starting her first day at a new school and is very nervous.  Wearing a very conservative outfit, Cinderbelly fills her new backpack with only sensible supplies.  She is determined to do everything right at this new school to make sure she fits in with the other kids.  Her new school however, is the most bizarre school she’s ever seen. All the teachers wear red noses and huge shoes, gestures and big emotions are preferred over words, and three plus three does not always equal six!  Cinderbelly is confused and quickly feels alienated and fearful of trying anything.  School seems so easy for all the other kids, especially her new friend Goofball who seems to relish failure as much as success.  Urged on by Goofball, Cinderbelly begins to come out of her shell and try things. She discovers that she has a voice as unique as her new school. Perhaps she does fit in after all! But her true test comes when she is confronted by Princess Pants…

FLOP! is a delightful play that explores the fear of failure and the power of the human spirit. A visual adventure, Cinderbelly’s journey is uniquely told using clowning techniques, physical movement and music.
