Written by internationally acclaimed, Governor
General award winning playwright Suzanne
LeBeau and translated by John Van Burek,
this enchanting play is about reaching beyond our fears, exploring the world in which we live and celebrating our unique place in the world.
Élise and Léo are brother and sister. They have
come to fear the outside world and have
conditioned themselves to adhere to a rigid
schedule dictated by the sand in the hourglass.
One day they accidentally let their flying shoes
escape out the front door. The siblings are forced to venture into the unknown and joyfully discover the simple wonders the world has to offer.
SHOES OF SAND is a poetic story told
imaginatively through puppetry and creative
staging.
Play Themes: Overcoming Fear, Leadership, Family and Exploration.
*Subject to final approval of performance rights.
